SOURFACE CARELESS LOVE

Anglo-Parisian quartet SOURFACE cure the January blues on latest single ‘Careless Love’, a 1970s-esque ode to loving with candour and open-heartedness. The band flirtatiously teases the listener, building suspense with staccato brass and edgy piano before giving it all away to glamorous guitars that moan and wail with reckless abandon. Vocalist Ludo Aslangul throws caution to the wind singing “in the end all I have is my heart” while backing vocalists throw in campy yellow brick road “la la la”s for added 70’s flavour. However, when all is said and done Aslangul is looking ahead, he aims to remedy the cynicism of modern life, explaining “not believing in people makes for quite a dark world, even though, in the end, love is more powerful than most things.” SOURFACE’s debut album ‘The Eternal Summer’ will release 22nd March. -Adam Brown
